Alasia - Dumeril's Boa
Alasia the Dumerils Boa is one of the most muscular animals in the sanctuary! As a larger snake from Madagascar, she would need it to constrict her prey, which in the wild ranges from rodents to even small lemurs! Even though she isn’t our largest snake, she makes up for it with her ability to squeeze!

Alasia came from a loving home in August of 2024 along with a few of her housemates. Her rehoming was not an easy process, and it was extremely clear how much time and energy was put into making her healthy and happy.
While most Boas are from South America, Dumeril’s Boas are from Madagascar! Because of this, they are a very unique snake and not one that is yet common in the reptile world. These snake’s star-like pattern down their backs led us to name her after the brightest star in the serpent constellation, Alasia.
If you want to sponsor the brightest “Star” we have at the sanctuary, or are just happy to see STRONG females in the world, Alasia would make a great ambassador for you! She is a beautiful snake with a ton of personality, and will stand out to many of the visitors who meet her!
